Desert Rainbow Generation Tie-Line

in development

The Desert Rainbow Generation Tie-Line Project (Gen-Tie Project) would interconnect the proposed Desert Rainbow Project, a photovoltaic electricity generation and battery energy storage system facility (Generation Project), to the regional transmission grid at a point of interconnection (POI) located at the existing Salt River Project (SRP) Pinal West to Jojoba 500-kilovolt (kV) transmission line.

Location

The  Gen-Tie Project would originate at the Generation Project substation, located in proximity to West Riggs Road and between South 155th Avenue and South Bullard Avenue, and would interconnect into a POI along the existing SRP Pinal West to Jojoba 500-kV transmission line. See the figure below for the location of Gen-Tie Project’s route options.
