AES Recognized in the Top 20 in Fast Company’s 2023 Ranking of Best Workplaces for Innovators

The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) was named to Fast Company’s 2023 list of Best Workplaces for Innovators for a second year in a row, securing spot #14 and ranking alongside other major global corporations like Adobe, Genentech, and IBM. The Fast Company list recognizes AES for its APEX program, which nurtures talent and encourages employees to contribute new, cutting-edge ideas that can lead to clean energy innovation, the adoption of new technologies, and business growth.

“At AES, innovation lies at the core of our purpose to accelerate the future of clean energy,” said Tish Mendoza, AES Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “To make our mission a reality, we invest in talent attraction, incubation, and retention, with the goal of cultivating an in-house team of innovators that are instrumental in fostering new ideas and technologies that advance greener energy solutions.”

Since APEX’s inception in 2006, the program has incubated 4,500 unique projects, delivering more than $1.25 billion in financial benefits to the company.

Mendoza added, “Thanks to the talented innovators at AES, we continue to be a top provider of clean energy in the U.S. and a leader in the green transition. We are honored to be included in Fast Company’s 2023 list and recognized alongside other corporate giants.”

Earlier this year, AES was recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere and named to JUST Capital’s list of Just Companies in the US.
