Our team tracks over $5billion of construction project costs. We work with project managers that build and develop the most innovative and impactful projects in the US. This Project Cost Control Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial execution of capital projects across development and construction. This role ensures that project budgets are accurately tracked, variances are analyzed, and financial controls are maintained using SAP Investment Management and SAP Funds Management. The analyst will collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and finance leadership to ensure cost transparency and accountability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with project managers to publish and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
Monitor and report on capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx) against approved budgets.
Perform monthly variance analysis and provide insights on cost drivers and trends.
Support the process of budget reallocation, budget increase, and contingency drawdown requests while ensuring compliance with internal controls and board approval thresholds.
Maintain and reconcile project actual, commitment and forecast data in SAP within our cost breakdown structure (CBS/WBS).
Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including accruals and reporting deliverables.
Collaborate with Accounting & AP to improve data accuracy and reporting processes.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost control processes and tools, including Power BI dashboards and SAP enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in FP&A, Cost Control, or Business Intelligence, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
Proficiency in SAP or similarly complex ERP tool (SAP Investment Management and SAP Funds Management modules preferred).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel user required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
