Title: Senior Development Engineer

Location: Louisville, CO (full-time telecommuting permitted)

Employer: AES Clean Energy Services, LLC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict) along with battery dispatch modeling (Excel, Matlab); Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability; Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator; Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines along with recommendations for primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries, etc.); Technical diligence for new project opportunities, assessing accuracy and feasibility of third-party provided production estimates, site plans, product documentation and meteorological data; Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition conceptual to 30% design studies; Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals, both by self-performing, and coordinating external consultants; Improve and develop processes and products for more accurate and efficient evaluation of projects; Work with team on changing trends in project development; Work on and expand vendor review and approval process, leveraging AES DE Procurement team; Participate in AES DE’s growth planning process by contributing to continuous process improvement task forces and other strategic planning activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in Renewable energy project development, design, analysis, and construction.

Job requires 5 years of experience in each of the following: Common renewable energy system modeling tools and packages, such as PVSYST, Helioscope; CAD tools such as AutoCAD; and Electrical single line diagrams and layout. Job requires 4 years of experience in PV Installation and inspection on sites. Job requires 2 years of experience in each of the following: PVCase – Cloud based energy modeling software for Solar PV systems; Managing external consultants to produce project designs and plans. Job requires 1 year of experience in Battery storage design and development. Must have a PV Design Specialist certification and OSHA 10hr Construction Course or comparable job-site safety certification.

Salary: $148,949/year
