A co-op engineering opportunity for the Spring of 2026 is available on the AES Ohio Relay/Protection and Control Engineering team. This position will provide the intern with practical engineering experience as it relates to the protection and control of electrical power systems.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside staff engineers to help perform electrical calculations, coordination studies, short circuit studies, and design relay logic to develop protective relaying settings to detect and isolate faults on AES Ohio’s transmission and distribution system.
Assist in producing detailed engineering in accordance with AES Ohio and relevant industry standards (IEEE, NERC, etc.).
Complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.
Qualifications
A student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
An academic standing of Sophomore or higher is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a strong academic background, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills.
A proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred.
