AES Clean Energy is currently seeking an Associate Project Manager to support our Construction Project Managers with PV solar and solar + storage construction projects across the US. The position will report to the Director of Project Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support AES Clean Energy’s Construction Project Managers with reporting, cost control, cost forecasting, budget management and contract management.
- Work with cross functional project teams to execute project execution, budget management and cost control processes.
- Coordinate vendor and contractor setup, working directly with contractors as needed.
- Coordinate and set up Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Task Orders (TOs) in collaboration with the project legal team and contract manager.
- Review quotes and contracts for Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) creation.
- Assign intercompany purchase requisitions and purchase orders to appropriate project budgets.
- Manage the pay applications review and approval process, including collection and tracking of all required lien waivers and documentation to support the invoice submission.
- Process project invoices, including Service Entry Sheets (SESs) creation, Goods Receipts (GRs) creation, and submission of PO and non-PO invoices.
- Conduct forecasting for all project PRs and POs, including coordinating updates to contractor Schedules of Values (SOVs) for EPC contracts.
- Prepare monthly accruals in supporting of Accounting and Treasury processes.
- Understand project budgets and allocate funds to the correct WBS line items.
- Support the execution of debt and tax equity funding transaction processes.
- Create and review basic project reports and provide the project team with feedback on financial status and health of projects.
- Participate in project and team meetings to coordinate fundings in support of Project Managers.
- Manage internal form and document submissions for creating new construction vendors
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- 1-4 years related experience and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction or related field (required).
- Proficient with MS Office suite, Quickbase, SharePoint, PowerBI and SAP (required).
- Experience supporting Project Managers with project execution and reporting (preferred).
- Experience supporting PV solar project tax equity and debt funding transactions (preferred).
- Experience in solar and battery storage construction, electric industry, or power plants (preferred).
- Ability to build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead assigned tasks to closure while maintaining high level of professionalism.
- Able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, project, planning and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Able to work supportively and collaboratively with other teams.
