At AES we are looking for an Application Analyst

Role description:

The Application Analyst position will be part of the Digital Team, dedicated to providing user support, delivering training sessions to end users and Key Users, and ensuring comprehensive knowledge of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) tools and processes. The role will actively support the implementation of system enhancements, participate in meetings with global and local stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital solutions. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as Digital Product Owner for EHS applications, maintaining deep functional knowledge and ensuring alignment between business needs and system capabilities.

  • Provide global user support, ensuring incident resolution and adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Plan, organize, and deliver training sessions for end users and Key Users in both English and Spanish, including the creation and maintenance of user manuals and documentation.

  • Perform system configurations and validations to guarantee proper operation and support the rollout of new functionalities or process improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, including EHS, IT, and vendors, to implement system enhancements and coordinate change management activities.

  • Monitor system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and participate in testing and validation phases for new releases or updates.

  • Serve as a key point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication, issue tracking, and prioritization of requests.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or advanced student) in Information Systems, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred or equivalent with relevant work experience required.
 

At least 2 years’ experience to include:

  • Proven experience as an Application Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar role.

  • Knowledge of EHS processes and digital tools.

  • Experience in the energy or utilities industry is a plus.

  • Fluent in English (B2 level or higher) and Spanish.

  • Strong training and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, multicultural environment.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

  • Ownership and Accountability: Takes responsibility for assigned tasks, ensures timely delivery, and maintains a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Customer Orientation: Focused on understanding user needs, delivering high-quality support, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Skilled at transferring knowledge through user training sessions, documentation, and ongoing support.

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Committed to learning, innovation, and enhancing processes and systems to drive efficiency.
