AES’s Jewelflower project is a planned battery energy storage project that will help build a secure and sustainable energy future in San Jose, California. By storing excess energy for when it is needed most, Jewelflower provides flexibility that will be critical to deliver reliable, affordable power to meet California’s increasing energy demand.

Expected to be created annually during peak construction, plus an estimated 12 long-term operations and maintenance jobs

Project details

 

  • Containerized lithium-ion battery energy storage
  • Sited on approximately 40 acres of privately owned land
  • AES will be the long-term owner and operator of the facility
  • At the end of the project's life, a decommissioning plan allows for the land to return to agricultural use or other uses consistent with land-use policies at the time
