The Treasury and Investment Sr. Manager plays a pivotal role in the execution of Treasury and complex M&A transactions within the energy and utility sector. This individual leads and contributes to Treasury operations, Investor Relations, Financing deals and the financial analysis of mid-sized transactions, while supporting key workstreams for larger deals. They possess strong analytical skills, leveraging their expertise to build and evaluate intricate financial models, ultimately driving the origination and execution of these transactions.
The Senior Manager is also responsible for managing and coordinating due diligence efforts, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders. This role demands exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective information gathering, validation, and seamless collaboration with other AES groups and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Actively participates in cross-functional teams and projects to contribute to the overall strategic goals of AES.
Acts as a trusted advisor to senior management on M&A matters.
Conducts independent research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and opportunities.
Continuously seeks to improve and refine the M&A process, including identifying and implementing best practices.
Coordinates and manages internal and external stakeholder communication, ensuring clear and concise communication of transaction updates and progress.
Develops and manages transaction budgets, including negotiating and contracting with external advisors.
Identifies and mitigates potential risks and challenges associated with transactions.
Leads and manages the execution of complex M&A transactions under the guidance of a Managing Director. This includes overseeing all aspects of the transaction, from initial due diligence to closing and integration.
Leads the creation and evaluation of financial models, including DCF and earnings models, to assess individual projects and AES as a whole.
Leads the local treasury team responsible of supervising treasury operations, debt compliance, investor relationship and relations with partners.
Leads the preparation of high-quality investment memos, including detailed financial analysis, risk assessments, and strategic implications.
Manages a team of junior associates, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
7–9 years of experience in financial modeling, M&A, Treasury, and/or Corporate Finance.
Experience within energy is highly valued.
