The Electrical Maintenance Team Leader role is responsible for coordinating and accountable for execution of all electrical maintenance of the plant. Responsible for budget and expenses while achieving a high level of equipment reliability.

Primary Job Functions

  • Ensuring personal and equipment safety during maintenance activities and promote an environment where safety and environmental compliance is the number one priority.

  • Follow standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards. Lead by example in all of these areas.

  • Thoroughly and promptly investigate any accidents or near misses in conjunction with the management team to ensure that any unsafe practices or conditions are addressed and eliminated immediately.

  • Interview, select, hire, supervise, council, train, develop, promote, discipline and evaluate performance of maintenance staff.

  • Foster and promote a culture of teamwork between maintenance staff and all other plant teams.

  • Maintaining equipment in accordance with corporate standards, manufacturer's recommendations, and the requirements of this guideline

  • Specifying maintenance methods, procedures, and controls to ensure the quality of materials, parts, and workmanship

  • Setting and reviewing priorities for maintenance activities

  • Ensuring an adequate supply of suitable spare parts, materials, and supplies to service equipment covered by the outage maintenance program (non-stock items)

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance history information and consistent documentation of failures and abnormal conditions.

  • Developing outage reports and other monthly reports as necessary

  • Coordinating activities/work crews to minimize interferences

  • Notify planners, in a timely manner, of the overall status of work and potential problems

  • Reporting emergency work, planning and scheduling conflicts, and other significant events which may impact the execution of the maintenance plan

  • Maintaining critical path work on schedule or initiating appropriate alternatives as needed

  • Inspecting areas periodically to ensure safety and housekeeping requirements are maintained

  • Supervise contractors performance both on the field and on an administrative level in order to maximize their performance and ensuring compliance with contract requirements

  • Developing, coordinating and implementing equipment BOM, PM and maintenance work plans.

  • Responsible for area and outage budget development and compliance.

  • Responsible for long-term maintenance plan.

Qualifications Required

Education:

  • Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering field or equivalent experience required.

  • 4+ years of power plant experience coordinating maintenance activities preferred.

  • Experience in SAP preferred.

  • Computer based maintenance management experience required.

Knowledge and skills required

  • Effective organizational skills with commitment to deadlines.

  • Project Management experience preferred.

  • Strong Interpersonal, Technical, Financial and Estimating/Planning skills.

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs.

  • Proficient English language.

Asset Management

  • Ensure Compliance with AES Asset Management system and policy as well as ISO 55001 standards”.
