Building partnerships to strengthen communities

We believe in being a good neighbor, ensuring responsible clean energy development that benefits both the environment and local communities. At AES, we understand that our success as a company is only as strong as our partnerships with the communities where we operate. That’s why we partner with communities, customers, state agencies, higher education and elected officials to see how we can best work together to support sustainable social and economic development that complement the local geography and unique culture.

Clean energy benefits local communities

AES is committed to responsible clean energy development that creates long-term positive impact for both the environment and local communities.

AES’ Great Cove Solar project has provided a unique opportunity for high-value economic and environmental development impact, including:

  • Scholarship funding toward the Ernie Tarner Scholarship Fund for Franklin County college students to pursue an education in the environmental field
  • Scholarship funding to support graduating seniors of Tuscarora Public Schools
  • Funding toward the Franklin and Fulton County Fairs to support the fairgrounds as an important community gathering space
  • Research partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Environmental Innovations
  • Initiative to test best-management practices for solar arrays that could boost soil health and help better understand land impacts that could accelerate the benefits of clean energy projects industry-wide

AES is a proud member and partner of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry
