Upcoming events/meetings:

San Diego County will conduct a public scoping meeting for the Seguro Storage Project. The scoping meeting will involve a presentation about the proposed Project and the environmental review process and schedule. The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate the receipt of written comments about the scope and content of the environmental analysis to be addressed in the Draft Environmental Impact Report. The scoping meeting is for information gathering; it is not a public hearing and no public testimony will be taken. No decisions about the Project will be made at the public scoping meeting. Meeting details below:

Environmental & economic benefits

Utilizes land near existing electric grid infrastructure to minimize need for new overhead transmission lines

Designed in accordance with the latest applicable codes, safety standards, security, lighting, landscaping and noise requirements

Expected economic benefits include new tax revenue and local jobs during construction and operations

 

 

Environmental and technical studies

The project will be reviewed under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Environmental and technical studies for the project will include a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, hydrology, geotechnical, cultural resources, land, topography, biological, wetlands, economic impact and other studies. AES will work with the relevant government and regulatory agencies to mitigate potential environmental impacts from the project.
