The IPL Golden Apple Awards program honors outstanding central Indiana and Pike County educators who creatively use math, science or technology in the classroom to inspire and motivate improved student achievement. Since its inception in 1991, this program has recognized more than 450 public and private school educators who have developed and implemented a wide range of innovative projects using math, science or technology. The 2010 awards will mark the 20th anniversary of one of the most prestigious teacher recognition programs in Indiana.
Honors will be awarded on May 10, 2010 in a special ceremony at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. The competition will honor 25 outstanding entries with $2,000 and a personalized Golden Apple trophy. Additionally, each school in which a IPL Golden Apple recipient teaches will receive $1,000. 2009 IPL Golden Apple Recipients
