AES Ras Laffan is a 756 MW state-of-the-art combined power and desalination plant in Qatar. The gas-fired power plant generates over 30% of the Qatar grid peak system capacity, and the desalination plant provides approximately 25% of the country’s water supply.

As the first independent power and desalination plant in the country, AES Ras Laffan represents the cornerstone of private sector participation in the country’s development of essential infrastructure. The plant sells water and power to the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), a government entity.
